The school is fully compliant with all best-practice guidance on issues surrounding Safeguarding of our children. Below are details of how the school ensures that all members of our school community are kept safe:
Day to day arrangements
- All staff, Governors and regular visitors hold CRB certificates, details of which are kept on our Single Central Record. CRBs are renewed every three years.
- All visitors to site are clearly identified with the use of Visitors' Badges.
- All visitors required to sign in on entry to the school.
- Secure entrance to school
Child Welfare
- Childline and anti-bullying posters displayed in all cloakrooms and toilets
- Trained Playground Buddies clearly visible at all playtimes
- E-safety information in all classrooms, reinforced by class teacher
- Open policy to discuss concerns, worries or other issues with a wide range of school staff
- Trained drawing and talking therapy member of staff
- Learning Mentor support
- Children heavily involved in risk assessments and managing own risk, particularly in Forest School
Child Protection
- Designated Person for Child Protection: Matt Cole
- Deputy Designated Person: Sally Anderson
- Full Safeguarding and E-Safety Policy in place
- All staff and visitors receive guidance on managing concerns
- Child protection procedures all followed rigorously and staff understand they have a legal obligation to pass on child protection concerns, regardless of personal issues which may have influence on a case (e.g. knowing a family personally)
