Community Cohesion In Action!
Woolsery Primary School has developed an exchange link with a similar sized school in Old Town, Swindon. The aims of the link are to give children in both schools a first-hand experience of life in a contrasting UK setting. In November 2009, the Y4 children from Woolsery made the trip to Swindon and stayed overnight in the school hall. Click HERE to view pictures from the visit.
In March, the children from King William Street made a return visit to Woolsery. the focus of the visit was fr the Swindon children to find out as much about living in a rural locality as possible...

It was great to see that the friendships that had been made in November carried on!

Children from Woolsery enjoyed showing the King William Street children some Forest School skills!
In the evening, we all enjoyed a camp fire and toasted marshmallows!

Then it was time for bed - everyone slept in the school hall. What a squash!!

In the morning, the children enjoyed a cooked breakfast of local Barton Farm sausages!

After that, we went to nearby Westward Ho! beach. First we learnt about the Pebble Ridge and the effect of longshore drift...

Then we made some Beach Art pictures from driftwood and beach debris

After lunch, we walked to local farms to take a look at some of the animals...

Our plan for the Summer Term is to meet up somewhere between Woolsery and Swindon for a day out!
