Goodbye, Mr White!

Many friends, parents and colleagues from the past and present gathered in the school hall to say farewell to Alan White today. After 10 years as Headteacher, Mr White is moving on.

Mr John Crossman who was Headteacher before Mr White, spoke of the great changes that the school has seen over the years. Dave Thomas entertained us with stories involving snakes, bees, and chilly nights on Dartmoor. Finally, Mr. Matt Cole, who is now taking over as Headteacher, thanked Alan for all his hard work and dedication to the scool, and most importantly to the children. His great support for the Sunflowers pre-school has been particularly appreciated.

Friends and colleagues presented Mr. White with several gifts on his retirement. This wonderful cartoon was drawn by one of our parents, Mr. Nesbitt, and revealed many interesting and amusing aspects of Mr. White's personality!

We enjoyed a delicious strawberry cream tea, as we said goodbye to Mr. White. This was followed by a beautiful cake, which was kindly made by Mrs Kay Bromhead. It was such a work of art that it seemed a shame to cut it!
