Goldworthy Class

Mr Marks is the Class Teacher in Goldworthy Class, Mrs Smith is the Teaching Assistant. The class has children in Years 4, 5 and 6.

Below is a reminder about our expectations that we expect from our children at home on a weekly basis:

Weekly spelling and times table tests- Children will be expected to learn spellings and times tables weekly. Their weekly ‘Spelling and Times Tables Tests’ will take place on a Friday. Children will get a copy of the spellings and Times Tables for the whole half term at the beginning of it (glued into their small red ‘Spellings and Times Tables’ book). Children will be rewarded a ‘Learning Token’ if we can see that they have been practising their spellings and times tables in their book.

Reading regularly and recording in their Reading journals- Reading at home… Children are expected to read more than 3 times a week at home. This needs to be recorded in their ‘Reading Journal’ book and signed by their parent/ guardian. Children will be rewarded a ‘Learning Token’ if they read 3 or more times at home in a week.

Grammar and Mathematics Home Learning- Children will be given a sheet of ‘Grammar’ activities and a sheet of ‘Mathematics’ activities to be completed each week. These activities will be linked to the week’s learning. They will support and extend your child knowledge and understanding of what has been taught in school. Both the Grammar and Mathematics sheets will be glued into their red ‘Home Learning’ book on a Friday and will be marked the following Friday after they are completed.
Children will be rewarded a ‘Learning Token’ if they complete the activities sheets.

FOREST SCHOOL- COATS + WELLIES- Please can your child bring a coat and an old pair of wellies into school as we will have forest school sessions on a Thursday afternoon.

PE- Mr Davies will be teaching PE sessions on a Wednesday morning to Goldworthy class. An additional PE lesson will be taught by Mr Marks on a Friday afternoon.

• Plain black/blue shorts (during colder periods children can wear plain black or blue jogging bottoms);
• Suitable PE trainers (not plimsolls) and;
